Why Speed Dating Events Are Sometimes Rescheduled
Not every event runs exactly as scheduled — and that’s actually by design.
At MyCheekyDate, our goal has always been to create a room that feels balanced, comfortable, and genuinely enjoyable for everyone attending. Because these are live, in-person events, that sometimes means making small adjustments along the way.
A quick reality about live events
Every event is made up of real people — and real life happens.
People get sick. Plans change. Travel shifts.
And occasionally, attendance doesn’t land exactly where we want it to be for a great experience.
Rather than pushing ahead with something that feels off, we take a more thoughtful approach.
Why we sometimes adjust events
If an event isn’t shaping up to be as balanced or engaging as it should be, we may:
adjust the timing
combine it with another evening
or move it to a better-fit date
It’s a deliberate choice — not a last-minute one.
Because the difference between an “okay” event and a really enjoyable one often comes down to the room itself.
What that means for you
When we make an adjustment, it’s always with the same goal:
👉 better conversations
👉 better energy in the room
👉 a more worthwhile night out
And importantly:
👉 your ticket always remains valid
There’s no pressure to rush into something that doesn’t feel right — you can simply join us at a future event that works for you.
A note on tickets and bookings
All tickets for MyCheekyDate events are processed securely through Eventbrite, who acts as the merchant of record. They handle all payments, receipts, and transaction-related requests, including rescheduling and refund inquiries.
That said, you’re never on your own.
If you’ve reached out to Eventbrite and still feel something hasn’t been resolved, you’re always welcome to contact us directly. We’re happy to step in, review the situation, and help guide things toward a fair outcome wherever possible.
Why we take this approach
We’ve hosted over 25,000 events across 50+ cities, and one thing has remained consistent:
👉 the best nights happen when the room feels right
So rather than treating events as fixed appointments, we treat them as experiences worth getting right.
The short version
Sometimes events are adjusted.
Not because something went wrong —
but because we’re making sure it goes well.
