What is MyCheekyDate & UK Style?
MyCheekyDate is imported straight from the UK — it’s American speed dating with a British twist. Think relaxed, comfortable, and genuinely fun. We celebrate lovely daters — those who bring kindness, wit, and good energy — often rewarding them with discounts and complimentary invitations. And for those who aren’t quite our cup of tea… we politely say, “no thank you.”
Do the British really do it better?
We think so, yes. Most American speed dating parties can feel a bit like a college job fair — stopwatches, whistles, and a host shouting “time’s up!” in your face. Not very romantic, is it? At MyCheekyDate, we do things a wee bit differently. You won’t find name tags, microphones, or whistles here — just engaging conversation in a stylish, low-key atmosphere.
Do you have to be British to attend?
Absolutely not! While we were founded in the UK and bring that same charm across the pond, our daters come from all walks of life — confident, open-minded, and looking for something real.
What type of people can I expect to meet?
Expect a crowd that’s confident, amusing, and a bit cheeky — people who set trends rather than follow them. Our events attract diverse, adventurous singles who appreciate a smart venue, great company, and a thoughtful approach to connection.
How do I reserve my place?
Simply select your city from the homepage tabs to view upcoming events. Register online and you’re all set — no paper tickets needed. You’ll receive an email confirmation, and your name will be added to our guest list.

Do you screen your speed daters?
In our 18 years of hosting events, we’ve noticed something simple but true — the nicer a dater is to our hosts, staff, and fellow guests, the more matches they tend to make. Much like a private club, not every dater is for us. We look for those who see the good in everything and everyone — the kind, considerate, and genuinely lovely. If we feel someone wouldn’t be a great fit for our community, we politely reserve the right to decline service.
How do I get invited to complimentary events?
By simply being your delightful, genuine self. We don’t base invitations on looks or match results — we notice how daters treat others. Those who stand out for their warmth, kindness, and charm often receive complimentary invitations to future events or even blind-date matchmaking at no additional cost. It’s where lovely meets value — MyCheekyDate style.
How do I get banned?
While dating can be emotional, we have zero tolerance for behavior that makes others uncomfortable. We place great importance on feedback from fellow daters, and while everyone has personal preferences, one thing is universal — being nice never goes out of style. Anyone who disrespects guests, hosts, or staff will be removed and may be banned from future events. Our goal is simple: to keep MyCheekyDate a safe, welcoming, and genuinely kind community.
Are you affiliated with any 'Meet-Up' groups?
We think Meet-Up is a lovely platform that helps people connect through shared interests. However, we’re not affiliated with any “Meet-Up” groups or similar services. We do not redirect or promote events through third-party groups such as Craigslist or Meet-Up. MyCheekyDate events are hosted exclusively through our official website and Eventbrite listings — ensuring authenticity and quality.
What happens if the event is sold out?
We wish we could accommodate everyone! Unfortunately, the fun goes quick! You can email info@mycheekydate.com for information as to the process of being added to the wait list. Also, it is a good idea to keep checking back on our website as sometimes reservations become available at the last minute. We are continually updating our event calendar.
What time should I show up for the Event?
Please refer to the published start time in your event confirmation. We encourage everyone to arrive with care — there’s no need to rush. Our hosts often wait until all participants have arrived before starting, giving you time to relax, enjoy a drink, and mingle a bit. There’s no strict start time for the speed dating rounds — just an evening that unfolds naturally and comfortably.

What is a MyCheekyDate ‘Date Mate’?
A “Date-Mate” means you’ve made a match! Using our mobile MyCheekyDate Smart-Card, you can choose whom you fancy meeting again — and to what degree. You’ll have until midnight to submit your final selections, then simply return to our platform to view your matches. Paper scorecards are so 2010 — this is where cheeky meets convenience! Your digital scorecard lets you see all event participants, upload a photo, make your selections, and receive your matches — all from your phone, tablet, or computer. No app required — it’s instant, sleek, and accessible directly through our website anytime.
How long will I chat with my Prospective ‘Date-Mate’?
Each mini-date lasts about 6–7 minutes — just enough time to spark a genuine connection. At larger events, this may be shortened slightly to ensure everyone gets a chance to meet.

Don’t worry — in today’s world, it often takes only a few minutes to know if you click with someone. You’ll also have time during intermission or after the event to mingle and continue conversations. Just relax, enjoy yourself, and let the evening unfold naturally.
How will I know I have any MyCheekyDate ‘Date Mates’ and how do I contact my MyCheekyDate ‘Date-Mate’?
You’ll make your selections via your mobile scorecard and submit them by midnight. After that, you can log back in anytime to view your matches. For each “Date-Mate,” you’ll receive their first name and email address so you can reach out directly. We encourage daters to use an email address they’re comfortable sharing and that isn’t work- or name-specific — just to keep things delightfully discreet.
Can I return for free if I don't get a match at an event?
Unlike other speed dating companies that offer free returns for those who don’t match, we do things a bit differently. We reward lovely daters — those who bring warmth, kindness, and great energy — with complimentary or discounted invitations to future events. It keeps our community filled with the kind of people everyone wants to meet and makes each event even more special.

Is Food included with my MyCheekyDate ticket price?
From time to time, our partner venues may offer light nibbles or small bites for guests to enjoy. This is entirely at the venue’s discretion and varies from event to event. We recommend arriving a bit early if you’d like to dine beforehand — or stay after to share a drink or snack with a potential Date-Mate.
How long does a MyCheekyDate event last?
Event length depends on the number of daters in attendance, but generally runs about two hours, including a brief intermission to refresh, mingle, and chat with your hosts.
What Happens when the Event is over?
That’s completely up to you — and that’s when the real fun often begins! Many guests stay to mingle, enjoy another round of drinks, and continue conversations sparked during the evening. There’s no rush — just relax and see where the night takes you.
How Many People Will I Meet?
Each MyCheekyDate event draws a lively mix of 16 to 40 singles, depending on the city and venue. We keep things intimate enough for meaningful conversations while ensuring plenty of variety — a perfect balance for finding someone you truly fancy.

Can I pay without doing it through the Internet? Register/Info
All registrations are handled securely through our website using encrypted checkout systems for your safety and convenience. We’re unable to accept payment outside of our online platform. What Should I Wear?
The British do love to dress things up a bit — and we encourage a touch of that charm! That said, feel free to wear whatever makes you feel confident and comfortable. Our only rule? No riff-raff, please.
I Am Older or Younger than your age ranges – may I still attend?
Of course! Our age ranges are simply suggestions, not strict limits. Choose the category where you feel most comfortable. We also offer a variety of ranges across events, so check back often — or let us know if there’s one you’d like to see.
Will I be photographed or filmed?
Never without your permission. We do occasionally host private, invitation-only events that are filmed for media or promotional purposes, but these are always arranged separately and with prior consent. Your privacy and comfort are paramount.
What if I don't have the ability to act like a lady or gentleman?
Oh dear — how unfortunate indeed. We have a zero-tolerance policy for rudeness of any kind. While we attract wonderfully kind and considerate guests, not every dater is always ideal. Our daters are, in many ways, our product — and we go to great lengths to ensure everyone meets lovely, respectful people. Those who fall short of that standard may be banned from future events. It’s a standard we’re proud to uphold — and one our guests greatly appreciate.
